In a carve-out that closed on 2 April 2026, RCP Invest, the European private equity investor for alternative and special-situations investments, acquired EMC Solutions from Akkodis through its industrial platform SteelCo GmbH and relaunched the business under the name Alpha EMC GmbH. RCP Invest operates as an evergreen, hands-on owner with permanent-capital flexibility rather than a fixed fund life, and holds the company through this integrated investment platform. As of this writing RCP Invest remains the active owner and no exit or secondary transaction has been recorded.

Under PE ownership

The 2026 acquisition carved the EMC operation out of a large consulting parent and established it, for the first time, as an independent, standalone specialist with its own Alpha EMC identity. Under RCP Invest the business was slotted into an industrial platform intended to serve customers in complex, high-technology markets, giving the EMC testing and engineering activity a dedicated corporate structure and management focus. The company continues to combine accredited laboratory testing with engineering consulting, positioning the standalone entity to invest in its people and laboratory capacity for automotive, industrial and railway customers. Because the transaction is recent, the change so far is primarily structural, the transition to an independent, sponsor-backed company, with operating development expected to follow.
