Aeroprotec is a Pau-based industrial group specializing in surface treatments and protective coatings for metal and composite parts used in aerospace, applying certified processes such as anodizing, chemical conversion, electroplating, passivation, phosphating and non-destructive testing to shield critical components from corrosion. It positions itself as a multi-specialist able to serve engine makers, airframers and equipment suppliers within a single group, counting Safran, Airbus, Dassault Aviation, Thales, Collins Aerospace and ArianeGroup among its customers. The group operates from several French sites, including Pau, Uzein and Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon, alongside a Tunisian subsidiary, and reported revenue of about EUR 27 million in 2024 with a workforce of roughly 300 people. Its Uzein aluminium line is fully automated, paperless and REACH-compliant, ranking Aeroprotec among the leading French players in aerospace surface treatment.

Ownership journey

Aeroprotec was built up in Pau in 2005 by Thierry Haure-Mirande, who acquired and rebranded a legacy surface-treatment business whose roots reach back to 1946. In January 2020 the company opened its capital for the first time, calling on Siparex to support a proactive external-growth strategy at a point when it employed around 120 people across two sites in Pau and Tunisia for revenue near EUR 10 million. Siparex has remained an active backer through successive vintages, and its position is now held through the Siparex Entrepreneurs 6 fund from 2025. No exit or secondary transaction involving the sponsor has been recorded, and Aeroprotec is still listed as a current Siparex participation.

Under PE ownership

Since Siparex first invested, Aeroprotec has pursued the buy-and-build agenda it set out in 2020, roughly tripling in scale from about EUR 10 million to some EUR 27 million in revenue and from around 120 to close to 300 employees. It broadened its footprint beyond Pau and Tunisia, adding an automated aluminium-treatment unit at Uzein and taking on a site at Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon through the acquisition of the Chatal business. The group has committed EUR 5 million to a second plant adjacent to its Pau facility dedicated to steel treatment, aimed at doubling its capacity on that material. Management has set a target of about EUR 40 million in revenue by 2030, extending the group's multi-specialist positioning with major aerospace and defence primes.
